EYT Pilates Teacher Training at Pilates Barre Lex in Lexington, KY
If you have ever considered becoming a Pilates instructor, the EYT Pilates Teacher Training program offered at Pilates Barre Lex in Lexington, Kentucky provides a supportive and comprehensive place to begin.
This nationally and internationally recognized program is designed to give aspiring instructors the education, mentorship, and real studio experience needed to confidently step into teaching. Whether you are looking to begin a career in the wellness industry or simply deepen your understanding of the Pilates method, this training is structured to set students up for long term success.
The EYT Pilates Teacher Training program was developed in 2009 by Pilates educator and studio owner Jessica Spillane with the goal of making high quality Pilates education more accessible while maintaining the integrity and standards of classical Pilates. Since then, the program has trained instructors across the United States and internationally.
At Pilates Barre Lex, the program begins with a 300 hour Mat and Reformer certification, giving students a strong foundation in the Pilates repertoire, movement mechanics, cueing techniques, and class sequencing. Mat and Reformer work form the backbone of the Pilates method and provide the essential skills every instructor needs to teach safely and effectively.
Graduates also have the opportunity to expand their education into a comprehensive certification that includes additional apparatus such as the Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels.
The program is recognized by the National Pilates Certification Program, the most widely respected credentialing body in the Pilates industry. After completing the training, graduates are eligible to sit for the NPCP exam, which represents the highest professional certification available for Pilates instructors.
Students training at Pilates Barre Lex benefit from mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities within a real studio environment. Trainees observe classes, practice teaching, and receive feedback that helps them develop confidence and clarity as instructors.
In addition to the core EYT curriculum, trainees also participate in workshops focused on using props and building intelligent class plans, Pilates for contraindications and pre and postnatal clients, and size inclusive teaching practices. These additional workshops help prepare instructors to work with a wide range of bodies and movement needs.
As Pilates continues to grow in popularity, studios are increasingly seeking well trained instructors who understand the method and can safely guide clients through movement.
For those who love Pilates and want to help others feel stronger, move better, and feel more confident in their bodies, teacher training can be the beginning of a meaningful and flexible career.
At Pilates Barre Lex, we are proud to host and mentor the next generation of Pilates instructors right here in Lexington, Kentucky.
