General Questions

  • Pilates Barre Lex is located in Lexington, KY, in the French Quarter Square off of Richmond Road. Conveniently situated just off Exit 15, it’s an easily accessible spot. You can park anywhere in the plaza and there is additional parking behind the hotel.

  • Reformer Pilates focuses on the mind/body connection as well as breathing practices. It improves core strength, overall body strength, flexibility, mobility, and can help with back pain as well as improved posture. Consistency is key. Joseph Pilates created the method to be a low impact exercise that is safe and effective for everyone no matter gender or age. If you have never worked out on a Pilates Reformer, we recommend 1-4 private sessions before attending group reformer to become familiar with the piece of equipment.

  • Pilates Barre Lex specializes in Reformer Pilates, but we offer a dynamic blend of Pilates and Barre within our Fusion Class. Our primary focus is on mastering the Pilates method, while our Fusion class seamlessly incorporates energizing Barre movements for a well-rounded, full-body workout.

  • Pilates Barre Lex is a woman-owned and operated studio, exclusively designed for women, committed to building strength, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall well-being. As a team of women, we deeply understand the specific struggles and goals that women face, and we offer unwavering support to help one another thrive. Our all-female environment fosters a sense of community, where women feel safe, motivated, and empowered to achieve their fitness goals. • YES! We will offer a variety of classes to suit your needs—from a Principles class all the way to Strengthen & Tone. If you don’t know which class will suit you, Hannah will be able to give you guidance and a recommendation.

If you’ve never done Reformer Pilates, we do recommend taking a Private Session OR joining the Principles or Group Reformer classes first.

  • The intro offers are limited to 1 per person.

  • It is recommended to start with the Principles, Restore, or Group Reformer classes. However, any of our ALL-LEVEL classes are also great options (the majority of the classes on the schedule). The only one to wait on is Cardio Blast.

  • New Clients can book up to 26 days in advance to reserve their reformer here at Pilates Barre Lex. Membership clients can book up to 28 days in advanced.

  • You do NOT have to be flexible to start. This is a common misconception! Instead, start right where you are! Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout with extensive benefits, one of which is improved flexibility. We can’t wait to meet you where you are in your Pilates journey!

  • The studio is equipped with SEVEN, top-of-the-line Merrithew (STOTT) SPXmax reformers. They are amazing - the best of the best.

  • Pilates Barre Lex is a host studio for EYT Teacher Training, a convenient Pilates training program rooted in the classical Pilates method, providing a well-rounded in depth Pilates education. Held 1-2 times per year on average, this training offers in-depth seminars and teachings that blend traditional Pilates principles with modern techniques.
